A new website developed for the Newcastle Great ParkLife initiative has gone live.


The team at TPS Design were assigned with the task of developing a website to be used by those managing the NGP Travel Plan and Community initiatives. The new website will be used as the primary communication tool when distributing information and news to the diverse on site population of residents, commercial occupiers, staff and visitors.


Once complete Newcastle Great Park will be home to over 2500 new homes, a major business park, schools, community facilities and a new town centre. With so much due to be going on both throughout the construction phase and beyond it is vital that the management team are able to engage with people on an ongoing basis.


From a travel plan perspective the delivery of a community website provides the ideal means of engaging with the widest possible audience. Experience gained from delivering travel plans at other similar sites has shown that simple ‘travel’ websites tend to mainly attract those who already travel by sustainable modes, therefore missing the key target audience of car drivers. By widening the spectrum of information available the website content is opened up to a more diverse range of individuals, hopefully enabling us in our task of promoting the use of sustainable travel modes to those who currently drive.


Having developed the website the TPS team will continue to host, manage and update it as the NGP development continues to grow.
